What should I include?
When should guests arrive?
If ceremony begins at 5:30, state between 5 & 5:20. (Always 30 minutes before ceremony).
If you’re not wanting latecomers to join the ceremony, state if your arrive later than 5:30 you are welcome to join us at cocktail hour.
Do I get a plus one?
A way to answer this question is “If you have a plus one, they will be indicated on your invitation envelope and RSVP.”
What should I wear?
Include what attire you would like your guests in. Black tie, semi formal, or cocktail attire. If your venue is outdoors, maybe include that in this section so guests can decide proper shoes no covering.
Are kids allowed?
If you’re wanting a kid free event, a good way to state this is “Though we love kids, we want our friends and family to enjoy a kid-free evening and be fully present for our wedding, so we have requested this be an adult only event.”
If you’re allowing kids, you could state that they will also be listed on the invitation envelope and RSVP.
Is there parking/ transportation?
If there is, state there is parking available however if your guests are going to be partaking in alcohol consumption that you request them to Uber instead.
Hotels for out of town guests?
If a lot of your guests are coming from out of town, it’s a good idea to do room blocks at one or two hotels for them. State this in this section, and give the name and address of the hotels.
Will there be an open bar?
“The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you! You only get married once so come prepared to celebrate!”
