Wow! How has it been 10 years already since the start of Mint to Be Weddings?!? As I reflect on everything, it feels like both yesterday and an eternity since I launched my business and it’s been wild, fun, emotional, and a growing experience to say the least!
Starting at the beginning, I have to thank Elizabeth Hempfling and CeCe Mason for taking me in, teaching me the ways, and trusting me with all their clients and as a representation of their businesses up in the High Country. I always say that experience is the best way to learn and assisting on their stunning mountain weddings really gave me the confidence and tools to be successful. CeCe also personally helped me get my business started and launched, along with my gracious and supportive parents, and the fabulous and creative Deb Hall Weaver with Olive Paper!
I feel so very blessed to have worked with so many sweet and trusting clients. Thank you to every client (all 300 of them!!!) who have allowed us to be a thread in their story of love. We will forever be a part of their story and I just feel so honored for that. I hope we made that life chapter special, fun, and memorable.
I also feel incredibly blessed to have worked with this amazing vendor community. Year after year, I am blown away by how supportive the Charlotte (and surrounding areas) wedding community is. From fellow planners to DJs to photographers and more, I am always supported and encouraged! And I will eternally be grateful for that and cherish all these relationships.
And my girls! I have been SO incredibly blessed to have rockstar coordinators along my side from the very start!
My OG gal, Brittany, (who helped coin “Mint Girls”) helped me grow my business and supported me from day one! I appreciate her sticking through the early weddings, which were definitely learning experiences. After reconnecting from our college sorority, she became more than a teammate, she’s family.
Lydia (aka my work mom) has stuck with me from thick and thin (AHEM, picking up my slack during 3 pregnancies and 3 maternity leaves, haha!) and treats my business like her own, which is such a blessing! Also after reconnecting from our college sorority, she is so much more than a lead coordinator, she is my best friend.
Sweet Lauren! Lauren has been a blessing to this business in multiple ways. Not only does she rock every wedding she assists on but she also is the creative mind behind all our social media and our website. She puts in so much thought, care, and creativity and has really helped to make our business and social presence flourish! I can’t help but feel like it’s fate that our paths crossed, as we met at a past client’s wedding where she was a guest. She is just the sweetest human and such a joy to be around!
Morgan has been such a wonderful addition to the mint team. Her kindness, organization, and drive is always infectious and I so appreciate the efforts and support that she brings to my business and her clients.
And I couldn’t forget all of the wonderful assistant coordinators that bless the business and our client’s wedding days. I am truly grateful to have such a kick ass team of fun and amazing females by my side. Thank you to Brooke, Abbie, Amy, Katie, Katrina, Lauren, Jenny, Joanie, Kristen, and all others who may have helped with a couple events over the past 10 years. Wedding days are long, strenuous, and emotional, and y’all always have a smile on your face and are ready for anything.
Last but not least, thank you to my family and friends for their endless love and support over the past 10 years. Thank you to everyone who liked, commented, and shared our posts on social media. Thank you to everyone who recommended us. Thank you to everyone who prayed for us. And HUGE thank you to our family and friends who have stepped in and helped to babysit the kids during pop-up meetings. You are all blessings!
To my parents, thank you from the bottom of my heart for always encouraging me and telling me to reach for my dreams. You are the true and ultimate blessing in my life. They will always be my number one fans and supporters. Both being entrepreneurs themselves, I learned from the best. A special thank you to my favorite person on this earth, my mom! Not only does she support me to no end and lets me talk her ear off daily about the business but she also manages all our finances and keeps us on track as the businesses accountant. She is such a special person and is truly the heart of Mint to Be. I would be lost in this business without her.
And to my husband, Robbie, thank you for all of your support over the years! We started dating in 2016, one year after I had started my business, and since that day he has always been so proud and so supportive of me. Thank you for understanding my wacky schedule with late night meetings and weekend events, especially as we’ve grown our family. Thank you for holding down the house and staying with the kids (3v1) during those evening meetings and on wedding days. You are appreciated more than you know and though you are behind the scenes, MTB would not be as successful today without you and our whole family is blessed to have you as a father and husband.
As I close out, I am sure you can see a reoccurring theme here; blessed! Thank you, God! I pray every night and thank God for each and every one of the above mentions. It is overwhelming how blessed this business has been and I ultimately owe it all to Him.
Cheers to 10 wonderful “Mint to Be” years!!!
Love, Caroline
