Wedding design is one of our favorite parts of the planning process. We help our brides and grooms decide on their ceremony design, table settings, and color palette to name a few. Stationery aesthetics are incorporated throughout the entire wedding day, whether people realize it or not. Calligraphic art is present in ceremony programs, welcome signage, menus, seating charts, table numbers, name cards and other signs throughout your venue. To maintain a uniform flow and design, we'd first recommend working with one stationery artist or company for all of your signage. This ensures your colors, fonts, and styles do not look choppy or thrown together and represent a cohesive design. Not only will this translate well to wedding photos, your guests (and you!) will notice and appreciate the details woven in.
Once you've ordered your stationery elements, it's time to decide how to display them in a way that flows well with your design, both aesthetically and logistically. The decor elements should make sense in the space, meaning that the proportions are spot on and fill the space accordingly. When planning out your layout and logistic design, we take a step back and consider concepts from interior design. We think about filling empty spaces, decorating in "threes" or odd numbers, and ensuring the space feels balanced, among other arrangement elements.
After logistics are taken care of, think about the style that flows best with your overall design - should you use wood, acrylic, or metals? With so many options to choose from, we know it can feel overwhelming to decide on a style.
For some inspiration, we've created a design guide below based on different wedding styles. Before settling on one, take your venue style, color palette, and design goals into consideration to help guide your decision making process. Of course, you can always incorporate multiple aesthetics into your day: we'd just recommend visualizing how well they pair together.
Rustic & Charming

For a rustic feel, we'd suggest incorporating wooden elements into your signage. Wooden textures emphasize the natural beauty of the outdoors, which pair beautifully with any color palette. For a brighter look, a fresh coat of white paint is an easy way to change the feel of your decor.

Modern & Fresh

Acrylic signage is a major wedding trend that can be customized in so many ways to coordinate with your design. For a pop of color, consider painting the back of your sign to give it an abstract or modern feel. Acrylic also works very well as a classy sign that looks simplistic and fresh.

Timeless Elegance

For an upscale look, we'd recommend implementing mirrors and frames into your signage. Mirrors are perfect for a seating chart installation that catches the eye or for a timeless welcome sign. Mirrors also reflect light beautifully, making any space feel bright and open.

Minimalist Romance

For stationery that exudes romance, we'd recommend implementing linen paper and wax seals. Delicate paper like this feels more luxe, yet very minimalist. Opt for soft pastels or neutrals to maintain the minimalist theme and coordinate well with your other decor.

Casual & Effortless

Chalkboards have been around for so long, but their versatility and ease are just as appreciated today. If you're going for an effortless look that feels casual, chalkboards are perfect. They make any occasion feel casual and welcoming, without hurting your wallet too much. Plus: we as planners can write your message out at no extra charge :)

Industrial & Moody

If you're looking for a dramatic vibe to set the mood, metallic features are perfect for an industrial feel. You could incorporate copper/metallic elements into your signage through copper piping, frames, and even through metallic lettering on paper.
