We see a lot of our clients become conflicted about whether or not to book a videographer for their wedding day. There’s so many variables, they can be pricey sometimes and you could use that money somewhere else, but the video could be priceless and something you cherish forever. Or, could it also be something you watch only once and then forget about? It can really be a toss up for a lot of people!

Mint to Be’s owner, Caroline Zaney, always tells her clients that if they even somewhat consider hiring a videographer to go ahead and book one, because the most common response is regretting not having one. (Fun fact, Caroline watches her wedding video all the time!) While photographs are a stunning way to capture the day, there is something so different about capturing it on film. Seeing the moving parts of the day, and experiencing friends and family in a way that you’ll never see again is such a special artifact to have. Watching footage of your guests, your bridal party, and each other throughout the day is so different than seeing it in a still photograph. Also don’t forget about how you’ll be able to hear your vows and toasts again, especially if the day was a blur and you don’t remember much. You’ll also be able to feel and see the love of the day develop through the video. To us, the video of your wedding is priceless.

After speaking to a friend/videographer at one of our clients recent weddings, we decided to write this blog explaining all the positives of booking a videographer. He shared with us that The Knot’s “5 Wedding Regrets I Wish Someone Had Warned Me About” article has “not hiring a videographer” repeatedly coming in as the #1 biggest regret. We don’t want any of our clients (or any bride or groom out there!) to feel any regrets on their wedding day, so we decided to share our input on the subject. Coming from our experience of Caroline and other clients loving their video, and other clients regretting not having one, we highly recommend hiring these talented vendors and having a beautiful video to watch!
