Our first tip is to schedule your hair and makeup trial the same day (but before) your dress fitting. This way you can see the whole look and decide if you love it! It is also good to go with a hair style that you feel comfortable in/ would do normally, but glam it up a bit for your wedding. This way you will feel like yourself and be comfortable but also be stunning for your big day!

Schedule a photography session with your photographer before your wedding, even if you don’t need or want engagement photos. This way everyone is comfortable around each other, and you can get a feel for their style and an idea of how photographing your wedding will go. It can be a little uncomfortable taking posed and intimate pictures on your wedding day if your photographer is a stranger, so this way you will at least have shot with them before and can get to know them.

An important detail that often gets forgotten about is to break in your wedding shoes!! Especially if they’re heels, practice walking in them and break them in. You don’t want blisters and aching feet during your ceremony.

Take at least Wednesday- Friday off of work the week of your wedding. It is even worth it to take the whole week. Especially with friends and family coming into town, the last second planning details that can come up, and just soaking in the week. We tell all of our clients this because we think it is super important!

You’re going to have so much fun getting ready the morning of your wedding with all your girls! Make a playlist before hand of songs that you love, and even have your bridesmaids contribute as well so you can jam all morning while getting your hair and makeup done! These are some of the best memories.

Keep your family in the loop as you plan. It seems like a lot to keep giving them updates during the planning process, but in the long run it is so much easier to alleviate all their questions and unnecessary stress leading up to the big day or even on your wedding day!

Trust me, we know weddings are expensive. A good way to relieve yourself a bit of stress is to split up your payments. You can keep an excel sheet or a list of the amounts you owe to different vendors, and divide that into payments if that works with the vendor.

We also recommend getting swatches of your bridesmaids dresses to use during design meetings for your linens and florals, and anything else you might want to add. This will help make your decisions in your design and color schemes more confident, and so beautiful because all of the colors will play off of each other.
