What's In a Wedding Planners Emergency Kit?

October 06, 2022 in Top Tips

Unfortunately, the hard truth is no matter how hard and detailed you plan, something will go wrong on your wedding day. As planners, part of our job is to make sure that whatever goes wrong can be fixed! For help, we have what we call our emergency kit. In our emergency kit, we have anything you could think of that can help us prepare for the worst case scenario on your big day!

In case of a dress malfunction, we keep safety pins and fashion tape in our kit. Sometimes a bustle will tear from partying too hard, but don’t worry, we got you covered with either safety pins or our sewing kit! We also keep black, white, and a couple other colored paint pens in case some signage or decor has chipped parts or looks a little beaten up.

Forgot some items for your detailed shots? Don’t stress! We have a variety of different colored velvet ring boxes for your rings, and also different colored ribbon to match for your photographer to style!

Lately we have been seeing a lot of our clients use polaroid cameras for their guest book. It is the cutest idea ever, and we love the different ideas guests have when taking photos for it! However, sometimes the cameras can be picky, so we keep a couple extra polaroid cameras in our bag. We also keep a variety of different sized batteries on hand too for anything that might come up! our kit is also prepared with a handful of sharpies and pens if they’re needed for the guest book or anywhere else as well.

Being the handy-women that we are, we also keep pliers stocked at all times. We keep zip ties stocked as well, because sometimes florals or neon signs need to be secured as the day goes on!

Reserved signs help make sure that your guests don’t accidentally sit where your family is supposed to. We have extra reserved signs and twine (or ribbon!) to hang them with if a client needs some stocked in our emergency kit as well.

These items are just a starting point for what all we keep in our emergency kit! While it is impossible to guess what may go wrong, we know that we are over prepared for anything that might come up throughout they day. We want to do everything in our power that helps our clients have the fairy tale day they have always dreamed of, and our emergency kit helps us along the way.
