Vendor's Tips for COVID Wedding Planning: Aubrey Rich

Happy Tuesday - We're so excited to welcome Aubrey Rich of Willow Floral Boutique to our blog today! Here are her tips for incorporating beautiful florals into your wedding day:

Make your wedding day as you envisioned: With guest count restrictions, it’s heartbreaking to cut your guest list in half, or sometimes even more. But if you choose not to postpone, this is still your big day and it should look and feel that way! The amount of centerpieces may change, but the quality of it shouldn’t – and that goes for table settings with linens, place settings, etc. Your photographer will be getting all those sweet and beautiful detail shots for the day, so don’t get discouraged as you adjust your guest count down.

Flowers Are Seasonal: If you are postponing, discuss seasonal changes with your florist! A wedding pushed from May to October may mean swapping out those peonies for dahlias, but your florist will be able to recommend and tweak your florals so that your aesthetic is still captured. Be open to these changes, your new favorite flower may end up in your bouquet because of it!

Keep Your Ceremony Backdrop in Mind: If you’re streaming your ceremony for guests that can’t attend, be mindful of your backdrop for the ceremony. Is it backlit, making it a bit harder for those virtually attending to see? Are you planning to decorate some sort of backdrop – an arbor, draping, florals? This will help anchor the two of you as you say your vows, and create a gorgeous visual for your guests even though they can’t be there in person.

About Willow Floral Boutique

Hi! My name is Aubrey Rich and I am the owner and head designer of Willow Floral Boutique, and we’re a Charlotte based wedding and event florist. We are a mother-daughter team who have done hundreds of weddings together over the past 8 years. My mom’s name is Patti, and she’s quite a gem. We're a well-oiled machine running on coffee and good communication, and are always up for new idea or challenge. We love flowers, and we love love. When I’m not playing with flowers, I enjoy reading, baking, yoga and getting outside to hike and play golf.
