Jessica + Seth's Romantic Weekend Celebration

January 11, 2022 in Wedding Features

When Jessica and Seth approached us with the prospect of a 2-day event, we were ALL IN. After all, the biggest day of your life should be commemorated properly. Since Jessica and Seth are not local to North Carolina, they wanted to make the most of their trip to the East coast by celebrating all weekend long. This sweet couple planned with us across the country to make their dream day a reality, and dreamy it was.

Here’s our breakdown of their weekend, including gorgeous photos by Amanda Somerville Photography.

DAY 1

Even though the forecast called for rain on their big day, Jessica and Seth entered the tent fully dressed with huge smiles. (If you’ve never seen Annie before, that probably sounded very strange to you)! Every detail was ready for their special day, as the pitter-patter of drizzle hit the tent, dusting their welcome florals in soft raindrops.

Guests traveled from all over to celebrate the sweet couple at their weekend-long affair, so everyone was eager to kick-off the weekend’s festivities. We carefully hid Jessica behind the curtains of the tent, awaiting the start of their ceremony. Soft strums of the harp echoed through the open-walled tent, greeting guests as they took their seats.

The time had arrived. Jessica looked beautiful as she gracefully floated down the aisle in her lace layered a-line gown. Seth, waiting for her at the end of the aisle, in an elegant tuxedo. Gorgeous florals adorned their chuppah, as the rabbi began the service. The rain ceased right as their ceremony began, leaving a subtle fog on the lawn and the fresh smell of rain in the air. Before long, the glass was broken and they were one!

The couple made their way back up the aisle, before running off to take some of these beautiful photos, moments after becoming husband and wife.

Their evening consisted of fine dining, hearty laughs, and heartfelt thanks spoken straight from the sweetheart table. (It’s always so sweet when couples share a short message of gratitude - never expected, but always appreciated by everyone!)

Everyone retreated to their hotel for the evening, as we prepared for the next leg of their weekend…

DAY 2

It had poured rain all week. Jessica and Seth weren’t phased by it, but their Saturday plans could be. You know the saying, after every storm, there comes a rainbow…

Every guest and vendor at their wedding can testify to the beautiful miracle that took place. The sun broke through the clouds, drying the ground and illuminating their day in golden hues. Isn’t it ironic that on the second day God created the skies? He truly showed up on their beautiful second day, shining down on them through pure sunlight and joy..

A second day means a second dress! Jessica donned a flouncy, playful number with a low back for their fun day full of dancing, dining, and games. Paired with effortless hair and makeup, her look exuded natural beauty. She completed the look with a pair of strappy suede pumps and cheerful exuberance. Wedding glow is definitely real and we’re so honored to witness this on all of our beautiful brides!

Seth rocked a white button down to match his bride, partnered with khakis and leather dress shoes. Their day epitomized effortless elegance, so naturally they had the looks to match.

Friends and family gathered to enjoy tapas, drinks and fun games in the same spot where they’d said “I-do” only a day before. Overnight, the tented space had been almost completely reimagined. Lawn games were added in the field, a fun photo booth took the place of ceremony musicians, and comfy couches framed the previous day’s memorable aisle. Their guests enjoyed corn hole, giant Jenga, and Connect 4, as the sun’s rays trickled through the clouds. Guests traded their umbrellas for sunglasses, as the setting traded moody elegance for sunlit bliss.

Music poured through the speakers as guests danced, ate and mingled under the sun kissed tent and in the lawn. Finally, the time had come for one of the most iconic dances - the Hora! Seth’s Jewish background played a huge role in their ceremony, but the weekend wasn’t complete without this beautiful tradition. As soon as the song started playing, guests ran into the tent, linking hands and circling the couple as they sat together, eager to celebrate their family’s Jewish heritage.

The talented Amanda Somerville captured these adorable moments of the couple, as they were lifted into the air.
