When it comes to planning a summer wedding, there are certain elements we love to incorporate. To ensure your guests' comfort and happiness, we've gathered our favorite tips for beating the summer heat for you all. We'd highly suggest any of these tips for outdoor celebrations, but they can be helpful for indoor events too!
1. Ceremony Fans

If your ceremony is outdoors, we cannot emphasize enough what an impact fans make! Offer your guests a trendy fan that ties in with your decor, or customize your fans to feature your ceremony programs for guests to follow along and stay cool.
2. Provide a Water Table at Your Ceremony
The Carters Creative, Eggleston & Co.
One of the best ways to keep your guests cool is with ice water! This easy and simple solution will keep your guests happy all the way to cocktail hour, especially in an outdoor setting. Even if your ceremony is indoors, a water table is a great idea. Guests travel from near and far to celebrate with you, so they will appreciate the sentiment when they arrive.
3. Cocktail Hour Popsicles

Who ever said popsicles were just for kids? Provide a sweet treat during cocktail hour to help your guests stay cool! Customize the experience through display elements, like this one we featured in our Summer Garden Styled Shoot. Floral ice cubes added the perfect pop *wink wink* of color to this popsicle display!
4. Ice Cream or Gelato Cart

A modern take on an ice cream sundae bar, the gelato cart is the perfect way to to offer your guests a summer dessert! After dinner, guests can choose from different flavors to enjoy as they cool down in the summer evening heat.
5. Elegant Parasols

There is nothing more elegantly southern than a dainty parasol at a summer wedding. You can buy these in bulk online somewhere like Oriental Trading at a discounted rate. These are great to offer your guests some shade for an outdoor ceremony or incorporate them into your bridesmaids' looks!
6. Rent Fans to Cool Down the Dance Floor

For outdoor receptions, the dance floor can end up being a sweaty hub of people getting their groove on! Even in indoor settings, we've witnessed countless guys taking their shirts off to stay cool while dancing. (TRUE STORY!) To keep the party going, we'd suggest renting large fans to frame your dance floor and keep your guests in the zone all night long.
