Who We Are

Mint To Be Weddings specializes in creating elegant events that reflect each couple’s personality, style, and overall vision. We go the extra mile to ensure that every detail is covered, so our couples can enjoy their day to the fullest extent. We approach every wedding with the same level of sincerity, creativity, and professionalism no matter the size or style. Our team strives to practice effective communication with all parties involved, because we value the time and energy poured into each unique event. For every budget and vision, we collaborate to achieve each couples’ dream wedding using our skills in creativity, design, and innovation.


The Mint To Be Team is proud to serve the greater Charlotte area, providing clients with our industry expertise, vendor connections, and relational approach. Our team is comprised of three core members, as well as several assistant coordinators who strive for sheer perfection in every wedding day. Each member is equipped with a unique skillset, playing an integral role in our collaboration. Our collective vision embodies our individual gifts involved in design, logistics, communication, and organization. CAROLINE ZANEY

Head Designer and Coordinator

 
 

I was born and raised in south Charlotte and am proud to be a southern gal! I grew up in Steele Creek, which most would argue is "south of south Charlotte" or "pretty much South Carolina." Growing up here was ideal because it allowed me to enjoy and explore the beauties of both North & South Carolina.  Much like the rest of my family, I am outgoing, short, hard working, and have a large sense of humor!

I have always enjoyed planning events, even when I was a child. My passion really grew when I attended Appalachian State University in 2009 though. I knew I wanted to make a career in event planning so I established myself in a Communication major and minored in Entrepreneurship. It wasn't until I organized a surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary for my parents that I knew I wanted to focus on weddings. I fell in love with celebrating others love and that was it!

After that, I promised myself that I would find my way into the wedding industry. I took an internship with an event planner in Boone, NC, which eventually turned into my first wedding assistant job. I worked with her for a little over a year at venues all over the High Country area and fell further in love with weddings and being a part of others "happily ever-after." 

Shortly after, I had the pleasure of working closely with another wedding planner at a resort in Boone. She constantly encouraged me to use my own creativity on weddings and even had me plan and execute a few Rehearsal Dinners myself. I eventually took all Rehearsal Dinners and Corporate events off of her hands and became the resort's Corporate Events Coordinator.

After staying at the resort a semester post-graduation, I felt like it was time to return home. An opportunity arose and I decided it was time to start my own wedding planning business. Thus, Mint to Be Weddings was created in 2015 with the help and support from my friends & family! I absolutely love my business and this industry and feel blessed every single day. I put my heart and soul into ensuring that each client's planning experience is fun and relaxing and that their special day is everything they dream of and more! 


LYDIA NEWTON

Lead Designer and Coordinator

 

Hi! I was born and raised in a small town right outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Growing up in such a small town really made me appreciate the people around me and value my family and friends. I am outgoing, passionate, and in love with traveling the world. 

I’m currently an elementary school teacher but I have always had a desire for event planning. Caroline and I met through our sisterhood at Appalachian State University, and I couldn't imagine working with a better team. Working with Mint to Be has allowed me tap into my creativity and craft unforgettable experiences that will resonate with couples for years to come.


LAUREN BOYLES

Marketing Manager and Coordinator

Hey! Like Caroline and Lydia, I was also born and raised in Charlotte! (Fun fact, the three of us are also Appalachian State graduates!) I first met the Mint Girls in 2019 when I was a sophomore in college. They were coordinating a friend of mine’s wedding, and I realized then and there that I would love to do wedding planning as a career! Then, in 2020, I began with assisting on weddings, and the rest is history.

I have always been a huge people person, and I always knew that I wanted to incorporate that into whatever jobs I did. I love the idea of not having to work in the same space every day. I also love traveling and experiencing new people and places. I am so excited to be a part of our clients’ wedding days because it is such a special day in their lives, and it’s so fun to see all the design and planning come to life on their big day!


MORGAN HANEY

Lead Designer and Coordinator

I first met the Mint Girls when I was working as a venue coordinator in the Charlotte area and the connection was instant. Like Caroline, Lydia, and Lauren, I also grew up in the Charlotte area. I have a passion for helping others and I knew joining this team would be an amazing experience. I love coming alongside my couples on the most important day of their lives. As a planner, I strive to be the calm voice, encourager, and advocate. My in my free time you can catch me with a book in my hand or training for an upcoming race! With my organizational skills, kind heart, and enthusiasm, the planning process and wedding day is sure to be memorable.
